As part of our efforts to foster mutual understanding and knowledge exchange, design works from Southwest Jiaotong University were showcased at Made in Brunel 2024 at the iconic OXO Tower in central London.
Southwest Jiaotong University, the first institution of higher engineering education in China and known as the “cradle of railway engineers,” offers several renowned design programmes, including interaction design, visual communication design, and industrial design. This year, four outstanding pieces from Southwest Jiaotong University were invited to be featured at Made in Brunel.
These designs highlighted Southwest Jiaotong University’s expertise in transportation design, marking the first time Made in Brunel has included works from Brunel’s partner institutions. As part of the Engineering Industrial Designers for a More Inclusive and Sustainable World project, Brunel’s design works will also travel to Southwest Jiaotong University, further strengthening cultural and knowledge exchange.
Made in Brunel is a unique initiative that showcases Brunel’s design talent at its finest. It is a student-led programme that facilitates the connection between Brunel design and the greater creative community to help promote the incredible work students produce. These strong links between the design department and industry add incredible value to studying design at Brunel University London. For more information, please visit Made in Brunel.
