Vision
The Engineering Industrial Designers for a More Inclusive and Sustainable World project (short name Responsible Future Designers) is funded by the British Council. The project aims to forge UK-China partnerships to train responsible designers and is led by Brunel University London (UK) and Southwest Jiaotong University (China).
It aims to foster enduring educational partnerships, promote cross-cultural understanding, embed inclusive and sustainable design principles, and facilitate the dissemination of best practice in design education and research.

Our planned activities will include invited talks, mentorship opportunities, open-access educational resources, and a design competition open to participants from the UK, China, and beyond. These initiatives aim to create a lasting impact, fostering broader collaboration and engagement .
Inclusion & sustainability
With inclusion and sustainability as core values, we integrate EDI and sustainability principles into the planning and implementation of all activities. We prioritise works focused on these themes in our exhibitions, competitions, and collaborative projects, ensuring that inclusion and sustainability remain central to every aspect of our initiatives.
