Responsible future designers:
Design for Inclusion
and Sustainability
Engineering Industrial Designers for a More Inclusive and Sustainable World is a British Council–funded UK–China partnership project led by Brunel University London (UK) and Southwest Jiaotong University (China). The project aims to cultivate a new generation of responsible industrial designers by embedding inclusion and sustainability within design education and practice, while strengthening long-term collaboration between the two institutions.
The design competition forms a core activity within the Women in Design programme, celebrating diverse perspectives in design and supporting emerging talent across both countries. This page showcases the award-winning projects, recognised by an international judging panel for their creativity, relevance, and potential impact in addressing inclusive and sustainable futures.
