Design Principles:
The product follows a dual-track approach of function-driven + expression-driven design. Instead of a humanoid form, it adopts an artistic, non-intrusive home object aesthetic. Interaction thresholds are set via contextual sensing, validated through a subjective–objective–physiological triad. Data is processed locally by default, with minimal collection. Multi-modal cues (light/sound/motion/UI) provide gentle, emotional feedback, avoiding both the “uncanny valley” and superficial companionship.
The design ensures cross-generational and cross-ability accessibility with low-barrier triggers and clear readability. It offers older adults visibility and connection, reducing digital exclusion. By weaving memories, it safeguards family intangible heritage. Material choices (modular, recyclable, biodegradable) and low-power edge computing extend product lifecycle while reducing energy use.
